Artist Statement

A combination of abstract graffiti symbology with figurative representations of Atlanta’s present and future. This piece aims to transform the urban landscape and transcend traditional connotations of graffiti by subverting the way graffiti is traditionally used and how it is understood bythe public.

Artist Bio

Matt Field is the Founder and Principal Artist of All City Murals. He started painting in 1995, first inspired by a graffiti mural he saw on the side of a bridge. His indefinable style of lettering evolved from graffiti influences of the cities he has lived in: Miami, Atlanta, Montreal, San Diego, New York. In 2008, he permanently relocated to Atlanta and was granted his first public art commission by Living Walls in 2011. Since then, he has received commissions from public and corporate sponsors like the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs.

Priscilla Alarcon serves as the Administrative and Communications Coordinator for All City Murals. She holds a B.A. in English and Sociology from Emory University and an M.F.A. in Writing from Savannah College of Art and Design. She helps local small businesses develop blog and social media content. Her first book, The Muse-Degenerate Project, will be released this summer via Amazon CreateSpace.
