Artist Statement

Return to Nature highlights the transformation of the old rail line to the Beltline. It depicts an abandoned steam engine transformed, as grasses and flowers inhibit the train and decorations overcome the metal structure.

 

Artist Bio

Robin Morris is an art teacher in Dekalb County and has led many community art projects in this role. She has also accepted commissions for site-specific work including a children’s hospital in Fishkill, NY, and murals in private residences. Carrie Moore is an art teacher at Connections Academy’s Georgia Campus and was commissioned to create the mural for Wynnealu Baptist Church in Terry, MS. She has also created various private murals. Jessie Petri is a Marketing Communications Specialist for Dekalb County and a freelance graphic designer. She has experience with Art on the Atlanta BeltLine, assisting in performances for previous exhibitions, painting scenery and signage as well as creating promotional videos. Zach Griggs is a Design Engineer at Aeroquest and assisted in painting scenery and signage for prior Art on the Atlanta BetlLine performances. Cameron Troxel is a Staff Engineer at GeoSystems and has experience with website design as well as a good understanding of civil engineering material. Cameron also has experience with logistics of field work. Michelle Mazza is a 4th grade teacher at Ivy Prep Academy. She recently helped to managed the design and build of a new playground located at her Kirkwood school.
