Artist Statement

City Gate Dance Theater (CGDT) will present “DREAMERS; Mothers of Sons”, a One Act contemporary ballet with Art on the Atlanta Beltline. This work, presented in its entirety, addresses the social issue of violence against men of color in America and the effect it has on their families and communities. With the presence of COVID-19, CGDT will explore the inclusion of multi-media and film to capture the moments that best describe how the loss of these lives has completely changed the livelihood of black families in America.
