Artist Bio

A graduate of Agnes Scott College and formerly a dressmaker and bartender, Lee retired in 2014 after teaching English literature for 22 years at Columbia High School, in DeKalb County, where she also developed and taught a film in literature course. In that same year, she was introduced to the BeltLine by a close friend and fell in love with it — its people and natural and artistic habitats — and began writing original poems in celebration of these things. Every Saturday, weather permitting, from 1-3 p.m. at the North Avenue overpass, Lee calls out to BeltLine visitors and invites them to stop and listen to the poem she wrote for that week. Those fortunate ones who do so are rewarded with an individualized reading of it and their own copy of it on quality card stock paper.
