Artist Statement

Woodie is a catalyst for Atlanta BeltLine participants to interact in the social acts associated with sitting, leaning and eating. These actions are facilitated through interweaving forms which create benches, tables, and counters. This wooden sructure will provide a defined space of interaction.

 

Artist Bio

Susan Kang holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Southern Polytechnic State University. She currently works as an Intern Architect at Precision Commercial Architects, Inc. She was the recipient of the Bauhaus Dessau Design Studio Best in Class award and a SPSU scholarship recipient, both in 2011. Whitney Ashley holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Southern Polytechnic State University. She works as a Project Manager for Gary B. Coursey and Associates Architects. She has won several awards for her thesis, “Phenomenology of Space,” including the Arch-Prix International Competition, and the Faculty Choice Award.
