Artist Statement

Living Synergies is an interactive installation that defies the universal convention of “home,” translating this concept through the deconstruction of the iconic house frame from  a rigid structure to an organic form that transitions to an open sitting room.

 

Artist Bio

Ms. Duong is an Intern Architect. She has also co-managed the 10up design competition for three years with collaborator Nathan Koskovich. As part of her responsibilities, she coordinates work with property owners, designers, and volunteers, and has managed certain aspects of the assembly and removal process. Additionally, Ms. Duong has extensive construction experience through her work with Habitat for Humanity where she is a certified Skill Supervisor.

Mandy is an Architect and Urban Designer with over seven years of experience designing, planning, and overseeing construction on a diverse portfolio of projects including historic renovations, adaptive re-use, educational, and cultural projects. She has been an instrumental leader in a number of community-based design build projects including her work as Team Captain of the American Institute of Architecture Student’s Freedom by Design GA Chapter as well as local organizer of the USGBC Green Apple Day of Service where she worked with local students to design and build outdoor classroom furniture from recycled materials.
