Artist Bio

Amy Rush is a puppeteer, improviser and graphic designer living in New York City, but also considers Atlanta her home, as she works there often. She earned an M.A. in Puppet Arts University of Connecticut. Amy attended many National Puppetry Conferences at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. She has performed live with the Center for Puppetry Arts, Synchronicity Theatre, and Haverty Marionettes and is a Company Member of Out of Hand Theater. Amy has wrangled puppets and performed for a variety of short puppet films, national television and commercials. She enjoys creating intimate puppet experiences that engage the audience in unique ways, whether that be in the viewing, the setting or the personal nature of the story. Amy is interested in Community-Engaged Theater and loves to collaborate to create experiences that give the audience an opportunity to tell its own story or be a part of the storytelling process in unique ways. Her work has been presented at two Puppeteers of America National Festivals and has been selected to present a third project, Depict-O-Mat, at the festival in fall, 2015.

Brandi Hoofnagle is an actress, puppeteer, and improvisor based in Atlanta Georgia. She is from a small town in Southwest Missouri, where she received her Bachelors in Theatre and later earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Arkansas. She has studied puppetry at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center National Puppetry Conference, concentrating on toy theater, Chinese rod puppet manipulation and tabletop puppetry. Currently, she is performing in an all-female improv troupe, specializing in short and long-form improv comedy called Collective 51 and is performing puppet slam pieces locally in the Puckin’ Fuppet Shows and all over the country. For the second year in a row, she also is directing Henderson Middle School’s Spring Musical Revue. She was last seen in House of Yes at Out of Box Theatre, directed by Topher Payne. She is currently working on debuting her puppetry piece, Flying Without Feathers at this year’s Atlanta Fringe Festival. She was a part of the festival last year with her one woman show Remember Me, about a girl, her puppet, and Alzheimer’s.
